Punta dell'Olmo: close to the world, immersed in tranquillity.

BLUE FLAG BEACH. THE CLEANEST SEA IN ITALY

For over 20 consecutive years Celle Ligure has been awarded the Blue Flag, the prestigious recognition from the FEE, Foundation for Environmental Education, a non-governmental environmental organisation present in 60 countries worldwide.

A MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE

Protected by the arc of the Apennine mountains and open to the sea to the south, Liguria enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate. Extraordinarily mild temperatures and low rainfall in winter, and an ideal climate in summer: never too hot (the average summer temperature is 23°C) and with humidity levels offset by sea breezes.

LIGURIA BY BOAT

From the port of Varazze it is possible to reach the most exclusive Ligurian towns by sea: San Fruttuoso, a charming little bay that is home to an ancient Benedictine monastery founded in the year 1000; Portofino, a village famous throughout the world; and the Cinque Terre, a long stretch of UNESCO World Heritage coastline.
Electric bicycles are available for residents and guests.

EVERYTHING A STONE’S THROW FROM HOME

Walkways allow direct access to the beach, to the centre of Celle Ligure and to Varazze, using a cycle path separated from road traffic.
Electric bicycles are available for residents and guests.

THE MARINA DI VARAZZE TOURIST PORT

Directly connected to Punta dell’Olmo, this is one of the most important landmarks for nautical tourism in Liguria, frequented by sea lovers in an elegant and exclusive setting.

Cinque Terre National Park

5 fishing villages overlooking the sea and connected by the most romantic promenade in the world, the Via dell’Amore.

Since 1997 they have been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Thanks to their beauty and uniqueness, they are one of Italy’s most attractive tourist destinations.

Portofino

And suddenly you discover a hidden cove of olive and chestnut trees. A small village, Portofino, spreads like a crescent moon around this calm bay.

Slowly crossing the narrow walkway that connects this magnificent natural harbour to the sea, we enter the amphitheatre of the houses, surrounded by a forest of fresh and mighty green, and everything

is reflected in the mirror of the calm waters, where some fishing boats seem to sleep.

Portofino is still as Guy de Maupassant described it in 1889.

The Langhe

On the border with Liguria, an hour and a half from Punta dell’Olmo, we find another unmistakable landscape: The Langhe. These vineyards created as works of art, on hills, among farmhouses, towers, castles, hamlets and farmsteads, are the most famous wine-growing hills in the world, and since 2014 they have been a UNESCO cultural landscape: the result of the combined actions of man and nature.

The Alba truffle.

This is not just the land where vines such as Nebbiolo, Moscato Bianco and Barbera are cultivated; here the Alba white truffle grows naturally, in symbiosis with particular trees or shrubs. It cannot be cultivated, but is harvested from late summer and throughout the whole of autumn, until the beginning of winter, for a product that is unique in the world.
